Photo Dynamic Therapy
Photo Dynamic Therapy is used to treat pre-cancerous skin lesions and severe acne. After Gail applies a prescription-strength topical lotion, you are free to enjoy your day for several hours or more. Then you return to activate the lotion with the Blu-light for 16 minutes. Afterwards, your skin peels, especially the hyperactive areas like pre-cancerous lesions and acne. This reaction, similar to a sunburn, lasts for a few days and leaves your skin more even and less prone to cancer and acne. In the case of pre-cancers, most health insurance covers the service. You will require a consultation with one of our providers before scheduling this. This treatment is generally covered by insurance for actinic keratoses.
